If you want to be good at something you must practice. Period. In public speaking when you practice you'll know:
Your timing: You can be certain of exactly how long your speech will run so you are not over or under the time allotted to you.
Your Note : You'll know what you want to say and how you want to say it.There is nothing worse when giving a best man speech and having to look down at your notes constantly.
Your inflection and areas of emphasis: This will help your audience pinpoint what's important and easily be able to follow your presentation.
Practice your speech until you know it off by heart. Remember what and how you practice your speech is closely related to the results you'll get when delivering your speech. So simulate the real thing as closely as possible for best results every time.
